Growing up in the mining and oil production economy of Oklahoma City, I was influenced by my father, Dr. Keith Stanley's, work as an environmental scientist during the 70's and 80's at the beginning of environmental regulation.
My dad grew up in the company town of Crossett, Arkansas. He worked summers in the paper mill that owned his home town. His father was a full-time mill employee. Dad left Crossett to pursue an education and eventually earned his doctorate in Engineering with an emphasis in Environmental Science.
Years later, after lead and asbestos were regulated by the EPA, my dad created a company in Oklahoma that monitored the removal of these substances in schools and many other buildings in the region. My father's work was the inspiration for this project.
